Solar cable design and selection's Principles


      1. If the highest voltage of the system is 380, choose 450/750V solar AC cables, and choose cables with a withstand voltage greater than the highest voltage of the system to prevent the cables from being damaged by high voltage.


      2. For the connection between the inside of the solar array and between the square array, the selected cable rated current is 1.56 times the maximum continuous current in the calculated solar cable.


      3. For the connection of AC load, the rated current of the selected solar cable is 1.25 times the maximum continuous current in the calculated cable.


      4.For the connection of the inverter, the selected cable rated current is 1.25 times the maximum continuous current in the calculated cable.


      5. Consider the influence of temperature on the performance of the cable. The higher the temperature, the lower the current-carrying capacity of the cable. The cable should be installed in a ventilated place as far as possible.


      6. The maximum value of the voltage drop cannot exceed 2%. There are many uncertain factors in the operation of the DC loop that will cause the loop to be grounded and make the entire system run abnormally. Generally related to the quality of the cable, such as unqualified insulation materials or performance ground, aging of the insulation layer, and certain damage defects may cause the system to be grounded. The intrusion and bite of outdoor rats and rabbits will also be a potential grounding hazard. In this case, cables with metal mesh must be used to ensure the safe use of solar cables.1.1
