②XLPE cables have no lead sheath and have a bending radius. It is small, light, and can be produced and laid longer in length, and is simpler than oil-filled cables during installation and transportation;
③The electrical and mechanical properties of XLPE submarine cables are also better than oil-filled cables. Because of this, the development of XLPE insulated submarine cables has broader prospects, but there are also many technical problems that need to be resolved. Ordinary cross-linked polyethylene cable under the action of DC voltage, the space charge in the cable insulation will be concentrated in a certain place, which causes the local field strength to be too high and breakdown.
