The difference between silicone rubber cable and rubber sheathed cable

Silicone rubber cables are mainly used for the laying of mobile or fixed devices with a rated AC voltage of 0.6/1KV and below. The allowable bending radius of the cable is 10 times the outer diameter of the cable. Silicone rubber has a wide operating temperature range and has the characteristics of heat resistance, cold resistance, acid and alkali resistance, water resistance, and aging resistance. In addition, it has good oil resistance, solvent resistance, radiation resistance, and flame resistance, good mildew resistance. It is odorless and non-toxic and has no adverse effects on human health when used.


Silicone rubber has good bending performance and low-temperature performance and is not easy to be damaged and cracked. These properties are not available in general high-temperature cables. Therefore, silicone rubber cables have a wide range of applications. However, the tensile strength, tear strength, and abrasion resistance of silicone rubber cables at room temperature are much worse than natural rubber and other synthetic rubbers, and they are expensive and have poor processing performance.


Rubber sheathed cable is a flexible and movable cable with multiple strands of thin copper wires as conductors, rubber insulation, and rubber sheath. According to the mechanical external force of the cable, the rubber sheathed cable is divided into three types in the product structure: light (YQ cable, YQW cable), medium (YZ cable, YZW cable), and heavy (YC cable, YCW cable). Lightweight rubber-sheathed cables are generally used in portable power cords for household appliances, small, electric machinery, electrical devices and appliances.
