The advantages and disadvantages of installing solar photovoltaic on the roof

Photovoltaic(PV) power generation converts light energy directly into DC power through the characteristics of semiconductors and then converts DC power into usable AC power through an inverter. There are no chemical changes or nuclear reactions, so there is no short-wave radiation in photovoltaic power generation.

Advantages:

1. Photovoltaic power generation is suitable for rural and self-built houses with idle roofs. The installation of photovoltaic square arrays can save space in the yard. It is very close to the existing power system and helps reduce costs.

2. Photovoltaic power generation is safe and reliable, and solar energy resources are inexhaustible.

3. Photovoltaic power generation is harmless to the human body, does not produce any waste, and does not produce the greenhouse effect, noise, and toxic gases. It is clean energy without pollution and radiation.

4. Solar energy does not require fuel, which greatly reduces operating costs.

5. Photovoltaic power generation is generally easy to install, and subsequent maintenance is easy and convenient.

Disadvantages:

Because the photovoltaic modules near the roof run at a higher temperature, the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation are low. If the roof needs to be refurbished, the photovoltaic array needs to be removed. Special weather such as rain and snow may cause roof leakage.
